FOCUS MISSIONS NEWS
Deadline to apply for SPRING BREAK missions: JANUARY 25TH!
Deadline to apply for SUMMER missions: FEBRUARY 13TH!
Dear Students,
2010 represents an unprecedented opportunity for you to change the world through FOCUS Missions! This year we have added four new missions that include building a church in El Salvador (which we will have during spring break and summer), Catholic community development in the Philippines, catechesis in rural Alaskan bush villages—accessible only by air–, and finally helping a village in rural Ghana, West Africa complete their dream of having a new Catholic Church.
Past participants in FOCUS Missions will tell you that their experience on a FOCUS Mission or pilgrimage was one of the most—if not THE MOST– important experience of their lifetimes. Missions has changed my life and I encourage you to not let this opportunity pass you by!
LIVE RADICALLY and change the world for Christ!
God Bless,
Jeff Runyan

Dear Friends,
On Tuesday, January 12, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck the capital city of Port-au-Prince in Haiti, leaving thousands of people dead and thousands more critically injured and homeless. For a country already ranked amongst the poorest of the poor in the world, the aftermath of this catastrophic event is seemingly impossible to overcome.
Our prayers and compassion are imperative to their recovery.
As our brothers and sisters actively dig themselves and their loved ones from the rubble of this disaster, it is heart-wrenching to sit by and watch as news reels feed us images and stories from thousands of miles away.
In order to offer a way to help, FOCUS has created the Haiti Earthquake Fund which will go towards the basic needs and medical care of our neighbors who are suffering from Tuesday’s events. Every dollar donated will go directly to the people of Haiti through Catholic organizations who are responding to this need.
Above all, we must go to God with our prayers for hope for the people of Haiti. In each way that we serve our brothers and sisters, we serve Christ, and in each prayer, we acknowledge that He will not be outdone in generosity.
With trust in His greatness,
Curtis Martin
